By: Selasie Amu Achimota school has been ordered by a Human rights division of the Accra high court to admit two Rastafarian students into the school. The court presided over by Justice Gifty Addo in her ruling today Monday, May 31, 2021, has ordered the Achimota school to admit the two students who were denied admission due to their dreadlocks as it was against their fundamental human rights. Tyron Iras Marhguy and Oheneba Kwaku Nkrabea sued the School’s Board of Governors, the Minister of Education, Ghana Education Service and the Attorney General to enforce their fundamental Human Rights. Justice Gifty in her ruling said, it was a violation of their human rights in article 12(1), 23, 21(1)(b)(c) as enshrined in the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
